IV. AFTER THE SINGULARITY
A Golden Age. 2041-2050?

This section has the least content, because we don't know what life will be like living in a world with highest quality robots.   What do you think life will be like with super-intelligence to serve us ? Will it be a Golden Age?

I want to know.   What will I be missing, if I go back to eating rich foods and shorten my life span?

Can we predict, much as a video from the New York World Fair describing the wonderful world of the future. There will be plenty. But how will it be distributed among people ? As a million dollars worth of goods presented on birth ; will that encourage large families ? On by service to the society ; who judges? Everything is free ; what will happen with millions of vacationers descend on Waikiki Beach.

We should mention that much of the research in genetics, nanotechnology will be going to the improvement of human longevity. This is not directly related to AI, just parallel research. Any significant improvement will have an impact on the issues associated with The Singularity.

Metaphysics Perhaps to be resolved in this period are some question dating back to ancient Greece and likely before that.
• Mind is an organ for thinking. It processes a flow of images through a physical body with a neural system. How does one study thought?
• Thinking is interpret ion of the world of experience with ability to make predictions about that world.
• An issue of significance is "consciousness". We know intuitively, but when a definition is attempted, the word but gets elusive and boils down to the definition of "awareness of the external world". It just be more than that, musten it ? Seem like awareness of self is involved. Feelings about events. And the (creative?) desire to make things happen. It is impossible to specify what it is, what it does, or why it has evolved. And I might add a question, is it necessary?. What purpose does it serve?
  • Is an ocean ware of the shores it beats against?
  • Is a gold fish conscious ? it seems to gets along okay.
  • An elephant is self-aware, yet he is still on the way to extinction.
  A related question is soul, essence of a being, a spirit. An objective definition as the primary purpose of an existence, such as, the soul of a race horse is to run. A spiritual definition is best left to mythology, but humans are said to have an immortal soul, and no other creature. This suggests that for a robot to have a soul, it must become human. Is that a step down?
  Or is the image of God a collection of electrons in the cloud, too?
